Join Hamilton’s Bach Elgar Choir singing a live soundtrack to Gemini Award-nominated filmmaker Mark Bochsler‘s stunning film of high-resolution imagery of the solar system and beyond from the Voyager space probes and James Webb Space Telescope. Featuring works for double chorus and Vierne’s Messe solennelle, a work of “breadth and mystery suited to a cosmic scale”, according to Artistic Director Alexander Cann.

Tracing the exceptional life and works of G.F. Handel, The Bach Elgar Choir’s upcoming performance Handel’s Choral Masterpieces on Saturday, March 9 at 7:30 PM at the brand new Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre is an innovative program showcasing Handel’s marvellous choral music leading up to the composition of Messiah, the greatest baroque masterpiece of all. Featuring the Bach Elgar Choir, Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, soprano Bethany Horst and tenor Jean-Philippe Lazure, conducted by BEC Artistic Director Alexander Cann.
Handel’s Messiah
The Bach Elgar Choir and the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra come together for two performances of Handel’s monumental work Messiah. From the soft beauty of the opening notes to the resounding joy of the Hallelujah Chorus, this performance promises to uplift and delight audiences during the festive season.
